RACE WEEKEND TRAVEL & PARKING
Getting to Silverstone Circuit
Getting to Silverstone Circuit
Free parking is available at Silverstone on Friday, however a parking pass must be purchased for Saturday and Sunday. A parking pass must be booked in advance and fixed to your windscreen in order to avoid a fixed penalty parking fine.
Official circuit parking is located on the Luffield and Abbey side of the circuit. Motorcycles park free at the circuit over the entire weekend and do not require parking passes.
Parking is only available to valid circuit entry ticket-holders and the car parks close each night so guests are not permitted to stay/camp in the car parks.
Parking passes are also available for the independently run Whittlebury Park car park. This car parking is located approximately 10 minute walk from Copse and Becketts Grandstands and is easily accessible from the A413. All cars must be off site by 8pm on each day.
Park and Ride allows you to park at Towcester Racecourse near the M1 and you can then board the shuttle bus to the circuit. Park and Ride is charged per vehicle parking pass (the shuttle bus is free). Please select the number of vehicle parking passes required (not the number of people) and a shuttle bus pass will automatically be provided for each entry ticket you have.
Please note: If booking Park and Ride only, please enter the number of shuttle passes required and these will be sent together with the Park and Ride parking pass.
bookmoto.com are offering megabus MotoGP coach services running from a number of pick-up points to Silverstone Circuit. Coaches aim to arrive at Silverstone for 10:00 and depart for the return at 16:30. A coach pass must be purchased for each person wishing to board the coach.
megabus prices will be released in February 2017.
Over the race weekend, Silverstone will be running a one-way road system. This means that if taking a taxi to the circuit, the taxi will not be able to leave after dropping you off and you will need to book the taxi for the full day and purchase a car parking pass. The best option if taking a taxi is to be dropped off in Silverstone village and walk to the circuit (approximately 15 minutes), but make sure your taxi driver knows the route to avoid getting stuck in the one-way system.
The train stations nearest to Silverstone are Northampton (25km from circuit) or Milton Keynes (35km from circuit). From here you will be able to take a shuttle bus to the circuit (payable on the day) or alternatively you can consider taking a taxi. Please note that if taking a taxi, you will not be able to be dropped off at the circuit. The nearest taxi drop-off point will be Silverstone village, which is a 15 minute walk to the circuit (please see the 'Taxi' section below).
Bespoke helicopter transfers may be arranged. Please contact us for further information and prices.
If you are camping or staying close to the circuit then it may be possible to walk to the circuit. Check with your accommodation provider for possible routes.
