The Circuit of Americas was opened in October 2012 and it consists of 20 turns; 11 left corners and 9 right corners with the longest straight measuring 1.2 km. It is the first purpose-built and permanent facility for motor-racing in the United States and the newest circuit to be used for MotoGP racing.
It is one of the few circuits to run anti-clockwise and has a mix of fast straights and tight hairpins which makes it one of the most varied MotoGP circuits. The first turn of the circuit is predicted to become the most notable part of the circuit as it has an elevation of 40 metres and leads the drivers into a tight corner, which should lead to an adrenalin-charged race start.
