RACE PROFILE

The 5.5 km Circuit Of The Americas has quickly become one of the most highly anticipated events of the season.

The unique characteristics of the COTA include the striking 133ft climb followed by a sharp blind left into Turn 1 directly in front of the grandstand, guaranteeing an exhilarating start to the race!

COTA is a state-of-the-art circuit in the heart of Texas, but the influence from racing history is clear. Incorporating corners and sequences inspired by those at Silverstone, Interlagos, Hockenheimring and the Istanbul Racing Circuit, this circuit is a favourite with riders and provides an incredible spectacle for fans with the elevation of the track resulting in excellent views in every grandstand.

The 2018 race saw Marc Marquez take victory, brushing aside his 3 place grid penalty to beat fellow Spaniard Maverick Viñales who finished in second, while Andrea Iannone completed the podium. Marquez will arrive at COTA undefeated in the US, winning every race in the Lone Star State since the Austin circuit joined the Grand Prix Championship in 2013.
