Moto GP 2010

General Admission

Fantastic event with loads of atmosphere, the circuit is very good but it could benefit from a few more big screens so that we could follow the whole race.
There were ample places from which to watch the race, however I would make sure you get to the circuit early to ensure you get a good vantage point.

I found the toilet facilities somewhat lacking as although there was a toilet block close by it was closed, which meant a long walk to find one that was open.

There were ample stalls from which to buy food and drink, however as usual you were paying somewhat inflated prices, my advice would be to take your own food and refreshments and save a bundle and a lot of queuing!

Acces to the circuit was easy and well marshalled, secure parking for the motorbikes was available and very well managed.

This was my first Moto GP and I loved the whole experience, even when we left the track and were on our way back to the hotel, the streets were full of locals who were waving and taking pictures of the motorbikes as they made their way home, what a great atmosphere.

I would recommend it to anyone who has never tried it

Le Mans - a bit of preparation goes a long way

General Admission
By Kathryn, 24 May 2010
Just got back from the MotoGP at Le Mans. We drove over via Eurotunnel which made for a long journey through France on the autoroutes, however the journey was smooth. Got to the circuit easily, then had a bit of a run around getting in, we wanted to get into the Rouge campsite, but the roadsigns directed you to an entrance that wasn't open :/ ended up being pointed in the right direction by one of the site workers. Arriving at the campsite at 6ish on Thursday night meant we had the pick of where to pitch, unfortunately the ground was solid with gravel and sand, which made pitching a tent very difficult, we somehow managed to get 6 tent pegs in, but the rest had to be weighed down by our kit.

Looking at the campsites for the grandstands, these were much better, all grass-y, so think we'll splash out on grandstand tickets if we go another time. Remember your suncream, it was very very hot, and there's very little shade = lots of red bodies. Also bring as much food/drink as you can, as the prices on site are extortionate - £3 for a can of coke / £8 for a baguette with chips.

The race was brilliant though, Lorenzo did a star turn.

Leaving the site took an age took us 2 hours to get out of the campsite and onto the autoroute out of Le Mans. All in all a brilliant weekend, glad we took the monday off work to recover though :)

Could have done with more info about the camping. Found a site more by luck. A sat Nav post code would have been really useful.

Apart from the thanks for getting tickets in plenty of time, and for keeping us informed of with e-mail
